It's not possible to tell the background of this author, or if this is a first book. I have a feeling it is self-published, or at least, if an editor was involved, they should be fired.The story is OK - although a bit predictable - however, there are editorial problems throughout. The number of times "you're" is used for "your" is frightening. One is a contraction of "you are" and one is possessive...they are NOT interchangeable. Words are missing at times...one can infer what is missing, but a decent editor should have caught this. Several times people say "I use to..." in dialogue...or descriptions such as "he use to be kind to people" are used. Just plain incorrect - "used to" is the proper phrase.
I finished the book, so the story was enough to make me want to know how it ended - but I was distracted from the story several times when the grammatical errors were so egregious as to make me stop in wonder. I wanted to give it 2.5 stars, but had to choose between 2 and 3...I feel I may have been too generous, but I went with 3.
